RE: INVITATION TO 2015 MOUNT KILIMANJARO EXPEDITION

FROM 15^th TO 23^rd SEPTEMBER 2015.

It gives us great pleasure and honor to inform you that the Tanzania Scouts Association has organized “The 2015 Mount Kilimanjaro Climb Expedition from 15^th to 23^rd September 2015.

The major objective of this event is to join the International community in the commemoration of the International Peace Day at the roof of Africa when the young people of Tanzania, Africa and World at large will be delivering messages of peace.

Also we would like the scouts and friends of scouts with their adult  leaders to have an adventure climb of Mount Kilimanjaro and explore the natural beauty of Mount Kilimanjaro as one of the world wonders, a very high stand-alone mountain with a snow cap in Africa tropical weather condition.

Participant eligible criteria 

Our main target group is young scouts in their unit starting from the age of twelve (12) years to twenty five (25) years. These young scouts are expected to be accompanied by their leaders. The total number required to climb the mountain at one time shall not exceed one hundred (100)

I kindly extend this Invitation to all scouts and friends of scouts as individuals or representatives of their corporate bodies, public institutions, schools and non-state actors all over Tanzania, Africa and World at large to join this noble exciting event to support young people to understand the need for conservation of our natural resources and making this world a better place to live with peace prevailing between individuals, communities and international levels.

The Expedition Messages:

The messages for this event will be focused on conquering;

Ø  Hatred

Ø  National Conflicts

Ø  Tribal Conflicts and

Ø  War for Resources.

The Expedition Cost:

(a) For Tanzanian Citizens the cost is TZS. 350,000.

(b) East Africa Countries the cost is UDS $ 200 excluding tips and equipment.

(c) Outside African Countries cost will be $500 excluding tips and equipment.

      This cost covers park fees, meals, climbing gears, accommodation in huts during the time of climbing the mountain.

Health Issues

Each participant shall be required to check his or her health condition to any reputable hospital/ doctor before climbing the mountain and the certificate of authorization from the doctor should be submitted to the organizing team on arrival.

Special required equipments to Carry

Ø  Cleanliness equipment: soap, towel, toothbrush and toothpaste, Vaseline.

Some additional drinks and food are advised during expedition; like

·         Energy drinks e.g. Red bull, Monster etc

·         Chocolates, biscuits or sweets

·         Juices
