Nairobi - Kenya: 20 National Messengers of Peace (MoP) Coordinators from different National Scout Organizations (NSOs) in the Africa Region have gathered in Nairobi for the Regional MoP workshop. The main goal of the workshop is to build capacity of National Coordinators to support National Scout Organizations to implement the MoP Initiative. Participants to this workshop will join the Regional MoP Core Team to grow the sense of ownership of the process by National Scout Organizations to effectively deliver the Messengers of Peace Initiative in Africa.
The Workshop on Messengers of Peace for the African Region was held between 17th - 22nd of January, 2017 in Sports View Hotel, Nairobi, Kenya. It had as its theme "Develop an implementation plan for the MoP initiative and Network in Africa".
Some key outcomes expected from the workshop will be to develop a harmonized regional plan to support NSA/Os to implement the MoP initiative; develop objectives of the MoP Network for Africa until the next Regional Conference in 2018; and to enhance social impact and visibility of the MoP Initiative for greater social impact
Participants will be expected to play the key role of multipliers within their NSO and zones, have the capacity and be available to support their NSO leadership and to support Regional, Zonal and National training activities when required.
